THERMOSWITCH® Temperature Controllers
Provide Reliable, Economical Operation

 

Electromechanical Thermoswitch® temperature controllers from Fenwal Controls provide accurate, reliable operation in demanding industrial and commercial applications. These rugged controllers require no external power source, respond quickly to temperature changes even in extreme conditions, and cost 50% of an equivalent electronic control. Applications range from commercial appliances to industrial services such as packaging equipment, industrial laminators, agricultural equipment, and medical vaporizers.

Available in probe or surface-mount configurations, Thermoswitch controllers use the differential expansion of metals to control internal electrical contacts and regulate temperature. This proven technique is precise and reliable, even in harsh applications such as extreme high or low temperatures (below 32°F and above 150°F), where digital electronic controllers may not function correctly.

Probe-type controllers provide instant on/off control with ±1°F precision in most applications. They are extremely sensitive, with slow make and break contacts and 0.1°F (0.05°C) resolution. Explosion-proof enclosures are available for hazardous location protection, and excellent vibration resistance provides control advantages under difficult physical conditions. Surface mount controllers are installed in direct contact with the heated surface, so any temperature change is sensed virtually instantly. They offer a narrow temperature differential, and minimum contact rating of 100,000 cycles. They are compact, long lasting and economical. Both types have overlapping ranges from -100°F to 600°F, and a 10 Amp (1200 Watt) resistive load rating at 120 VAC/240 VAC.

Thermoswitch controllers provide long, trouble-free life cycles, with no maintenance required. An 'anticipation' characteristic minimizes over- and under-shoot during rapid temperature changes. They are easy to install using their own hex coupling or other optional mounting configurations. Available options include factory preset temperature, set point restraining device, special range calibration, cross mounting bracket, extended lead wires and sensing shells, slotted and extended adjusting screw lengths, and a NEMA 4 enclosure.
