Direct Spark Ignitor Products From Fenwal

Direct Spark Ignitor Products from Fenwal.

Fenwal designs and manufactures Direct Spark Ignitor (DSI) Controls for safely delivering and controlling LP & natural gas in all types of commercial gas-fired appliances. Applications for the Direct Spark Ignitor cover the gamut, from furnaces and boilers to rooftop heater, infrared burners, water heaters and every other type of gas fired appliance. Flame sensing is achieved through the technique of using a high voltage spark electrode as the sensor or through a separate local or remote sensing probe. All models of our Direct Spark Ignitor use the principle of flame rectification to monitor the burner flame. In addition, a patented self-monitoring safety circuit provides a type of protection not found in other ignition systems.

Direct Spark Ignitor controls are available for 12VDC, 24VAC and 120VAC applications. Our CSA certified microprocessor circuit designs provide precise, repeatable timing sequences for ignition times and purge times (pre-, inter- and post-) as well as multiple tries for ignition. On-board diagnostics with LED output provides assistance with troubleshooting and ensures safe and efficient burner operation. Fenwal controls are not position sensitive and can be mounted vertically or horizontally using standard hardware.

The 12 Volt DC Direct Spark Ignitor is used mainly for Recreation Vehicle heating appliances such as furnaces and water heaters as well as other 12 Volt DC fired equipment.

The 24 Volt AC Direct Spark Ignitor control is used for many types of heating appliances. Custom prepurge, Interpurge, and Ignition timings.

The 120 Volt AC Direct Spark Ignitor control is used for many types of heating appliances. Custom prepurge, Interpurge, and Ignition timings. This control is essential for applications such as: Construction Heaters, Ceramic Infrared Heaters, Black Body Infrared Heaters, Commercial Cooking Equipment and any 120 VAC Gas Burner Application under 400K BTU.
