Hot Surface Ignition (HSI) Controls will safely control and deliver LP & natural gas in all types of commercial gas-fired appliances. Our Hot Surface Ignition controls have applications for furnaces and boilers, water heaters, infrared burners, and roof top heaters. In addition to these applications, our Hot Surface Ignition controls can be used on all types of gas fired appliances.

Using our Hot Surface Ignition module, flame sensing is achieved through the patented technique of using the hot surface element as the sensor or, if required a separate sensing probe may be employed. All models utilize the principle of flame rectification to monitor the burner flame.

Hot Surface Ignition controls are available for 24VAC and 120VAC applications. CSA certified microprocessor circuit designs provide precise, repeatable timing sequences for ignition times and purge times (pre-, inter- and post-) as well as multiple tries for ignition. On-board diagnostics with LED output provides assistance with troubleshooting and ensures safe and efficient burner operation. Optional 120/240 VAC field selectable line voltage capability provides additional field-service efficiency and lowers inventory cost. Fenwal’s Hot Surface Ignition controls are not position sensitive and can be mounted vertically or horizontally using standard hardware. Three enclosure configurations available:

• Case and cover - dust and foreign object protection
• Open board with stand-off's - saves space and cost
• Potted - protection for wash down and extreme vibration

The Fenwal 12 Volt DC gas ignition controls are used mainly for Recreation Vehicle heating appliances such as furnaces and water heaters as well as other 12 Volt DC fired equipment.
